🧦Spring 25 is Simple and Clean
AG Spring is Here, Figma IPO, Sony World Photography Awards, China sellers feel the sock pain, Plain English Tariffs with Derek Thompson, New Arvin Goods
Happy Monday,
We are taking a little break from our tariff talk to tell you we just dropped our latest collection of socks for Spring. The new collection is a beautiful little capsule of new colors from our partners in Spain and Portugal. We really believe that each collection of products that we drop is our best yet and always takes a step forward in quality and comfort. We aren’t a bold brand with loud colors or kitschy prints. We keep it very clean and very minimal. The goal is that you can wear our products in any situation, work or weekend. This group is only 4 SKUs, but it hits all the points. Clean solids, simple pattern, and classic stripes, and you can always fall back on the standards if needed. It is simple and clean, and that is the way we like it.
Enjoy the news below, and have a great week!

Figma confidentially files for IPO more than a year after ditching Adobe deal - CNBC
Design software maker Figma said on Tuesday that it has submitted paperwork to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering.
The confidential filing lands 16 months after the company scrapped a deal to be acquired by Adobe for $20 billion due to regulatory pressure in the U.K. The San Francisco startup had originally agreed to the deal in 2022. Adobe paid Figma a $1 billion termination fee.
Figma’s software is popular among designers inside companies who need to collaborate on prototypes for websites and apps. The company was valued at $12.5 billion in a 2024 tender offer.💰👨🏻💻🧦

At the Sony World Photography Awards 2025, architecture shines - Wallpaper
The Sony World Photography Awards 2025 winners have just been announced, crowning Canadian photographer Ulana Switucha as their overall winner in the Architecture & Design category – honoured alongside two more finalists.
Using her lens, Switucha captured The Tokyo Toilet Project - the Japanese capital's scheme that spans its Shibuya ward and started as an initiative launched by the city and the Japan Foundation. Over the years, the project saw the revamp of around 17 public facilities by key design and architecture creatives, such as the Tokyo Toilet Project by Marc Newson.📷🏆

At China’s Wholesale Hub, U.S. Orders Have Suddenly Halted. One Example: Socks. - Apple WSJ
YIWU, China—At the world’s biggest wholesale market in this eastern Chinese exporting hub, American clients have disappeared.
The Americans, or their representatives, used to show up to buy everything from Paw Patrol plushy dolls to Panama hats to toy sniper rifles. The famous Yiwu market here has 75,000 vendors across an area bigger than 1,000 American football fields; no other place sells so much stuff, so cheaply, and for decades, much of it went to the voracious U.S. consumer.
But with President Trump’s latest tariffs on China, which surged to 145% last week, very little of the merchandise makes economic sense for American buyers now. 🧦🇨🇳
